Booking.com's server searches hotels and never books one. Its accommodations search tool and ancillary services are scoped to an affiliate ID rather than to a traveler, and they return live availability, pricing, and property details before stopping. You sign in to Booking.com yourself to finish the checkout, so the reservation does not exist until you have left the chat. It is a hotel tool built for developers wiring up an assistant, not for the person taking the trip.
Expedia Group
Expedia's official server is, by its own name, a travel recommendations server, and the name is the verdict. It suggests hotels, flights, activities, and cars against your criteria, then leaves you to rebuild the itinerary on Expedia's site to pay for it. Nothing it returns creates a reservation, so the widest catalog here produces the least finished trip.
Kiwi.com
Kiwi.com runs the best search on this list and still makes you buy the ticket somewhere else. Its flight search prototype, released in August 2025, covers round-trip and one-way itineraries with three days of date flexibility either side, passenger types, and cabin class. Every result then arrives with a booking link, so you type the passenger details again on Kiwi.com's checkout page. It handles air only, which leaves the room and the car for another tool.
Kismet
Kismet finds the room in the chat and reserves it somewhere else. Its server exposes live rates and availability, then generates a booking link the guest follows to complete the reservation, which is the same handoff as Booking.com's, with a narrower catalog behind it: hotels only, no flights, no cars.

Its agentic-ready APIs, announced in September 2025, run through a proprietary MCP server and let AI agents shop, book, and service trips, with the initial focus on flights, hotels, and post-booking services. Sabre then embeds all of it in SabreMosaic for airlines, agencies, and developers, and that audience is the whole story. This is industry plumbing sitting underneath other companies' products, not something you add to Claude on a Tuesday afternoon.
