How to Talk to Otto
Talk to Otto like you would to an executive assistant planning your trip. You could start by saying:
“I’m going to SFO next week. I have a meeting at 2p Wed in the Financial District and I want to come home early Thu. Plan the whole trip.”
Start finding travel options
“I have a 12pm customer lunch on Friday at Capitol Grille. Find me a flight that will allow me to get there without scrambling.”
Otto understands that it takes time to travel across town after you land and will pick flights that allow for that.
“Book the same trip I have planned to New York, again for the first week of August.”
Otto knows your trip history. A repeat trip is one line, not a new search.
“I’m planning a three-day trip to New York in September. What should I budget?”
Use Otto before the trip exists. Otto builds a price picture for flight and hotel ranges so you can plan or get approval first.
“Find me a Ritz-Carlton in Chicago for two nights starting Tuesday.”
Ask for exactly what you want. Otto shows it, flags anything over your company’s rate cap, and recommends in-policy alternatives. No surprises at expense time.
“Tell me about that Westin downtown. Is it noisy?”
You can ask Otto about any hotel and get insights that don’t commonly appear on a property details page.
“On this trip I’ll need a car. I want a Hertz intermediate with pickup at the airport.”
Otto won’t expect that you need a car, but if you ask, Otto will find you one.
“Plan a new trip to Miami.”
At any time, you can tell Otto to start planning a new trip. Otto will create a new trip thread and take it from there.
Tell Otto about your travel habits and preferences
“I always want to stay in hotels that are within walking distance and earn me Bonvoy points.”
Otto remembers your preferences and applies them in the future.
“I only want Delta nonstops that depart in the morning.”
Quickly give Otto guidance about what type of flight you want.
“I prefer hotels with a rooftop bar and a gym with free weights and barbells.”
Tell Otto the stuff no filter has ever let you say. Otto will surface the two or three properties that match out of hundreds.
“Now search again for that Brooklyn trip.”
Add a preference mid-conversation, then re-run your search. New preferences apply instantly — no starting over.
“Add my Bonvoy number #839473"
Otto can add or edit loyalty numbers without needing to leave the trip chat.
Book your trip
“Book the flight.”
Otto has your payment method and profile info needed to book. Once you select a flight or hotel, you can just tell Otto to book it. Your loyalty numbers are applied automatically.
“Book the 7:15 AM Delta and the second hotel on your list.”
Refer to Otto’s results conversationally. No need to click through forms to select.
Change or cancel your trip
“My meeting just got moved. Change my entire trip to be 1 day later on both ends. I want the exact same flight/hotel room/car.”
Otto can handle this request and change your flight/hotel/car in one motion.
“Move just my return flight to the 6 PM departure. Keep the hotel and car the same.”
Otto can change one piece of your trip without touching the rest.
“Cancel my trip.”
If your trip gets derailed, just tell Otto to cancel the whole thing.
Other things you can tell Otto
“Stop.”
You can stop Otto’s thinking at any time. Just ask, then redirect Otto with a new prompt.
“What’s the company policy limit on hotel rates for Chicago?”
Otto understands your company’s travel policy.
“What travel documents do I need to travel to London?”
Otto can help flag any travel documentation you’ll need to travel internationally.
“Share my itinerary with my co-worker amy@company.com”
After you book, you can ask Otto to send an email with your trip itinerary, with sensitive info omitted.
